Hawaii Veterans Memorial Graduate Scholarship

History:  The Hawai'i Veterans Memorial Fund was established in 1945 during the final year of World War II to honor Hawai'i's veterans and to provide funds for higher education. Its original assets consisted of property, which included several Japanese language schools that had been closed at the outbreak of the war, as well as, numerous personal contributions. While the Fund was originally created to offer financial assistance to veterans of the War as a means of encouraging them to pursue higher education , the Hawai‘i Veterans Memorial Fund has since eased certain eligibility criteria to help the State of Hawai'i educate all deserving residents who demonstrate a need for financial aid.
