Hiroki Kaku Memorial Scholarship Fund

History:  His life ended at its highest point - beginning as a young student in Japan and ending as a doctoral student in the United States.

This scholarship was established in loving memory of Hiroki Kaku to keep his vision alive by providing financial assistant to students who hope to pursue careers that lead to opportunities for self-sufficiency of people in the Pacific Basin.

Hiroki Kaku's vision was to integrate agriculture, nutrition, education, and community health development in order to create opportunities that would deliver mankind from poverty, poor health, and ignorance to prosperity, well-being, and knowledge.


Description:  The purpose of this fund is to assist students at the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, who are interested in a career in agriculture, public health, or food and nutrition.
